Raf Goovaerts

Raf Goovaerts Partner

Raf joined LGT Impact Ventures as a Partner in January 2013 to lead the Impact Ventures UK fund. Raf has over 15 years experience in growth capital and private equity investments in Europe. After 4 years with J.P. Morgan in New York as part of the Investment Banking team during 1996-2000, Raf transferred over to London and joined J.P. Morgan Partners (JPMP), the bank’s in-house private equity division. In 2006, JPMP spun out of J.P. Morgan to form CCMP Capital, an independent private equity firm. Raf stayed with CCMP Capital until 2010.

In 2010, Raf took a one-year sabbatical during which he worked with The Private Equity Foundation (venture philanthropy) and Special Yoga Centre (charity) on strategic issues. Raf then joined the newly launched Business Growth Fund (BGF) in March 2011, a GBP 2.5bn growth capital fund set up by the five large UK banks.

Oliver Karius

Oliver Karius Partner

Oliver has been a Partner at LGT Impact Ventures since its formation in 2007. He has over 17 years experience in sustainable and socially responsible investment, venture philanthropy and corporate sustainability strategy consulting in Europe and emerging markets, especially Africa and India. Oliver is the co-founder of the WEF aligned African Social Entrepreneurship Network (ASEN), DeRisk and VantagePoint Global. He was Head of Research for Forma Futura, an independent asset management company focusing on contributing to a sustainable quality of life. Previously, Oliver has served as Manager Research Services and Senior Sustainability Analyst at SAM, Sustainable Asset Management, Research for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).

Previously Oliver worked for one of Europe’s largest Asset Managers F&C, specializing on all aspects of Social Responsible Investment and MunichRe. At LGT IV, Oliver is co-responsible for the overall strategy and management of LGT IV and especially for the Africa & India region and has helped grow the international team to 25 investment professionals. In his role, Oliver has overseen all 47 investments made and over $42m of capital invested. Oliver’s role at IVUK is fundraising and ensuring that all the best practices, processes and lessons learned from LGT IV in the emerging markets are incorporated into the investment selection, structuring and management of the IVUK portfolio.


Kevin Bone Partner

Kevin joined LGT Impact Ventures as Partner in September 2016 with 10 years of fund management and private equity experience, most latterly as co-founder of a Bucharest based regional growth equity fund. From 2002 to 2008, Kevin held CEO and Board roles in a series of turnaround and restructuring companies across the financial services, engineering and telecoms, media and technology (TMT) sectors. Having qualified as an accountant with Arthur Andersen in 1996, Kevin became a TMT investment banker, leading numerous debt, equity and advisory transactions globally. He is an experienced angel investor, bringing over 15 years of board experience to investees across eight countries.

Kevin holds a BSc in Japanese and Economics from Sheffield University. He also studied Aid Economics during one year at Chuo University, Tokyo.  Kevin has worked for projects in Cambodia and co-founded a sustainable agriculture orphanage in Rwanda. He is a trustee and treasurer of Pilotlight, a charity that provides structured mentoring to charities and social enterprises, and is a mentor to several charity CEOs.

Shantanu Bhagwat

Shantanu Bhagwat Venture Partner UK

Shantanu Bhagwat joined LGT Impact Ventures as a Venture Partner in August 2015.  He has more than 14 years of experience in venture capital and impact investing, across sectors and geographies.  He started his career in early-stage tech investing with Amadeus Capital Partners in 2001. He moved to impact investing in 2010 joining Accion’s Frontier Investments Group as Principal Director. More recently, he was a Venture Partner with Nesta Impact Investments. Shantanu has also worked at Monitor Co. in London and prior to that, spent several years as a fast-track career diplomat with the Indian Foreign Service in New Delhi and Tokyo. A personal investor in, and an advisor to several start-ups, Shantanu holds an MBA from London Business School where he was a Chevening Scholar.

Chris Hunter

Chris Hunter Investment Manager UK

Chris Hunter joined LGT Impact Ventures as an Investment Manager UK in January 2014. He serves as a director of Homes for Good Investments, a joint venture of Homes for Good CIC and IVUK as well as working with investee companies Latimer Group and Unforgettable. He previously worked as an investment manager at Ecobrands Capital Partners, a London-based venture capital firm focused on the lifestyle of health and sustainability (LOHAS) market. In this role, he was responsible for the origination, execution and active portfolio management of several companies and was also a director of Belu Water during its turnaround.

He has a BA from Pomona College, California and an MBA from the University of Oxford, during which he was a co-founder of the Oxford University Seed Fund and after which he was a Skoll Venture Award recipient and a Venture Development Fellow with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. Outside of Impact Ventures UK, Chris is a director of Odyssey Sensors and a trustee of two environmental charities, the Belu Foundation and the SEM Charitable Trust.

Jennifer Webb

Jennifer Webb Investment Manager UK

Jennifer Webb joined LGT Impact Ventures as Investment Associate UK in August 2014 and assists in the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, due diligence and management of investments for Impact Ventures UK. She has over five years of professional consulting experience, the majority of which has been spent with Deloitte Strategy (now Monitor Deloitte) in London, where she specialized in growth strategy, due diligence and market analysis across multiple sectors. On sabbatical from Deloitte Strategy in 2013, Jennifer acted as a commercial lead for the Grameen Foundation in Uganda, implementing a national mobile money and banking initiative on behalf of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Jennifer holds an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.

Lucy Inmonger

Lucy Inmonger Investment Manager UK

Lucy Inmonger joined LGT Impact Ventures as Investment Manager UK in July 2015. Lucy has a background in social investment, previously at Big Society Capital and CAF Venturesome, specialising in housing, community assets and financial inclusion. At CAF Venturesome Lucy managed the Community Land Trust Fund, a fund providing investment to communities seeking to build their own affordable housing, and successfully raised a second fund. Prior to this Lucy worked in the public sector working on large scale urban regeneration projects. Lucy is on the Board of Trustees at Citizen’s Advice England and Wales and also serves as Treasurer for Respect, a charity working with male perpetrators of domestic violence. Lucy holds an MA from King’s College London in Public Policy and Ageing Populations and is IMC qualified.

Jared Tausz Investment Manager UK

Jared Tausz joined LGT Impact Ventures as an Investment Associate in June 2015 and is based in London. Jared is responsible for origination, investment opportunity screening, financial due-diligence, legal structuring, execution and portfolio management. He has worked in the city since 2009, having qualified as a lawyer with magic circle law firm Allen & Overy LLP. Specialising in finance, he has spent time working with Goldman Sachs’ investment banking and fixed income divisions. Jared holds a degree in Theology and Philosophy from Durham University.

Shishir Malhotra

Shishir Malhotra Impact Associate UK

Shishir joined LGT Impact Ventures as a part-time Investment Associate in April 2014. He also works at Impact Ventures UK’s portfolio company K10 as their Insights Leader, where he collects and analyses operational and social impact data. His last role was as a Researcher at Media Intelligence Partners, where he conducted quantitative analysis to compare the economic benefits of degrees and apprenticeships. He has also worked in the charity sector, including Barnardo’s and most recently at Save the Children UK, where he helped deliver the ‘In My Back Yard’ youth empowerment program. Shishir graduated from the University of Oxford in 2011 with a BA in Physics and then went on to study for an MSc in Development Studies at SOAS. He’s always looking to develop his understanding of Political Economy, and is currently taking the ‘Economics with Justice’ course at the School of Economic Science.

Jo Fackler

Jo Fackler Fund Assistant

Jo joined IVUK in summer 2016 to assist with fund communications, investor and stakeholder relationships, as well as to provide administrative support to the team. Prior to IVUK, Jo was a Team Assistant at Berenberg, where she most notably established an events and marketing framework for the London Private Banking office. She also previously worked in university relations and graduate marketing at CGG, a geoscience services provider. Jo holds a BA in French at the University of Leeds.


Marta Pyrzyk Investment Associate Fellow

Marta joined LGT Impact Ventures as an Investment Associate Fellow in Aug. 2016. As part of the global LGT Impact Fellowship, Marta assists in investment due diligence, impact measurement and portfolio management. She has almost four years of experience in finance and in her most recent role she covered the consumer, retail and healthcare industry at Citigroup corporate banking. Marta considers the fellowship a fantastic channel to begin a career in the impact investing field. She holds a MSc in Economic Policy from University College London.
